The Kuja ( Russian Куя ) is a right tributary of the Pechora in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug in northwestern Russia .
The Kuja arises at the confluence of the Woi-Wosch and Worgaschor in the Bolschesemelskaya tundra south of Naryan-Mar . It flows in a predominantly northerly direction a few kilometers east of Narjan-Mar and reaches the Kuiski Schar ( Kuiskaja Pechora ) branch of the main estuary of the Pechora at the settlement of the same name . The Kuja has a length of 186 km. It drains an area of 3600 km². The Kuja is ice-free between May and October.
