Cultural Foundation of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck

The Kulturstiftung Hansestadt Lübeck is a foundation of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck and the sponsor of the Buddenbrook House and the Günter Grass House . Since January 1, 2006, she has been the managing director of all municipal museums in Lübeck, which, however, remain under the sponsorship of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. Alongside the Schleswig-Holstein State Museums Foundation, the combined museums are the largest museum association in Schleswig-Holstein .

The foundation board also includes the large Lübeck foundations under civil law such as the Possehl Foundation and representatives of the federal and state governments. The foundation is a member of the working group of independent cultural institutes .

The foundation is based in Brömserhof at Schildstrasse 12-14. The director is Hans Wißkirchen .
