Coordinates: 39 ° 3 '49 " N , 125 ° 46' 27" O The Ryomyong Street (려명 거리) is a road in Pjöngjang ( North Korea ). The project received by the international press , the term Pyonghattan or Pjönghattan , as an allusion to Manhattan , more rarely, Little Dubai , since particularly many high apartment buildings are to be built. It is located in the Taesŏng-guyŏk district and is about 3.4 km long.
history
The construction was announced by the KCNA on May 18, 2016. The street was previously called Kumsong Street. More than 3,000 new apartments were to be built here at " Ch'ŏllima speed ". In the course of the last 7th party congress of the PdAK , a 200-day campaign was proclaimed, this building project is part of it. With this, North Korea wants to show that such projects can be implemented despite the current sanctions. The area extends from the intersection of Ryonghung and Ryomyong Street to the Kŭmsusan Palace. The project was completed in time for Kim Il-sung's 105th birthday on April 15, 2017.

Tower of Immortality
A so-called Tower of Immortality marks the beginning of Ryomyong Street.
Pyongyang Metro Museum
The museum, which mainly deals with the construction of the Pyongyang Metro , opened in 1973.
Kim Il sung University
Kim Il-sung University opened on October 1, 1946 and is considered the country's elite university.
Ryongnam Middle School
The middle school is located opposite the campus of Kim Il-sung University.
Misanskaya Elementary School
The elementary school got its name on September 8, 2005 and was awarded the Red Banner of Fame three times .
Kumsusan Palace
The Kŭmsusan Palace served as the official residence of Kim Il-sung until his death , since then as a mausoleum .
Ryomyong skyscrapers
The skyscrapers have 50 and 70 floors, the smaller 30 to 40 floors. Depending on the source, a total of 3,000 or 5,000 new apartments were built. The foundation stone was laid on April 3, 2016 , with various functionaries and members of the army being present.
For this purpose, new day-care centers, post offices, laundromats, etc. were built here. Environmental protection is particularly taken into account here, for example through the use of solar modules and the use of geothermal energy . Members of the Korean People's Army are being used for the construction of the Palace of Science and Technology and Mirae Street .

Ryomyong Street is well connected to the city's public transport by the Pyongyang tram and the Pyongyang metro.In addition to the Kŭmsusan line (which, however, serves purely tourist purposes) there are three stations on the Hyŏksin metro line:

- Samhŭng
- Kwangmyŏng (closed indefinitely since 1995)
