Kunhe

The "community Kunhe the Daur and Manju " ( Chinese  坤河达斡尔族满族乡 , Pinyin Kūnhé Dáwò'ěrzú Mǎnzú Xiang ) is a nationality community in the municipality Aihui the prefecture-level city of Heihe in the northeastern Chinese province of Heilongjiang . Kunhe has an area of ​​87.5 km² and around 2600 inhabitants (end of 2009), of which just under 22% Daur and a good 24% Manju. The community is located in the southeast of the city district on the right bank of Heilong Jiang , which forms the border with Russia . It has over 51 km² of arable land, on which mainly soy , wheat , beans , mung beans and liquorice are grown. In addition, there is a good 8 km² of commercial forest and 4.2 km² of grassland used for dairy farming.

Daur and Manju

The community is one of the traditional settlement areas of the Daur and Manju . The Daur speak a Mongolian language , while the Manju largely abandoned their southern Tungus language in favor of Chinese during the Qing Dynasty . In the Qing period (1644–1911) the Daur were strongly influenced by the ruling Manju and often formed settlement and cultural communities with them.
