Art master
Art master is a term used until the 19th century for men (art masters are currently unknown) who construct and maintain technical equipment ( artificial tools ). Mostly it was an office with civil service status and often had to study at a job-related academy ( Bergakademie , Montanuniversität ) as a prerequisite. With the advent of the steam engine towards the end of the 19th century, the term disappeared and was replaced by that of the engineer .
