Kurt Anglet

Kurt Anglet (* 1951 in Northeim in Lower Saxony ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian and professor at the Redemptoris Mater seminar in Berlin.

Life

After studying theology, philosophy and German at the Philosophical-Theological University Sankt Georgen in Frankfurt am Main and at the universities in Frankfurt am Main and Münster / Westphalia , Anglet received his doctorate in 1988 ( On the phantasmagoria of tradition . Nietzsche's philosophy between historicism and evocation. A Study on the basis of the second and third Untimely Considerations) in the subject Catholic Fundamental Theology . In the nineties he took a lectureship in Catholic theology at the Institute for Jewish Studies at the University of Potsdam . Anglets Habilitation ( The eschatological reservation. A figure of thought by Erik Peterson ) took place in 2003 in the subject dogmatics at the University of Wroclaw . He then worked as a research assistant to Alois Cardinal Grillmeier for his multi-volume book Jesus the Christ in the Church's faith .

Anglet's ordination took place in 2002 in Berlin. After that he was in the pastoral service of the Archdiocese of Berlin . Among other things, he is parish vicar and pastor in the St. Anne's Church and the associated parish of the Holy Family.

Kurt Anglet is one of the theologians of Roman Catholic provenance who strive for an adequate interpretation of the eschatological statements of the New Testament , which received little attention in the history of theology. He transfers a primarily eschatological and apocalyptic shaped and predetermined question, which is genuinely theological in nature, to the areas of literary studies (Kafka), art studies (Ustwolskaja, Schönberg), and political science (Carl Schmitt).

Anglet is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of Group2012, an international network for research into literary modernism.
