Kurt Fahrner

Kurt Ernst Fahrner (born December 4, 1932 in Basel ; † September 13, 1977 there ) was a Swiss painter and action artist .

The woman was a recurring motif in his works . His picture of a crucified woman of our time from 1959 caused a stir at the time. In 1964 he was awarded the European Prize for Painting (Europaprijs voor Schilderkunst van de Stad Oostende) in Ostend. In 1964, 1965 and 1967 he received the Federal Art Scholarship. In 1967 he took part in the Paris Biennale at the invitation of the Federal Department of Home Affairs . He also worked as a bookplate artist .

Kurt Fahrner was a member of the Farnsburg group . He died in 1977.
