Kurt Gerdau

Kurt Gerdau (born April 11, 1930 in Saalfeld (East Prussia) , † December 21, 2007 in Tostedt ) was a German navigator , writer and publicist .

Life

Kurt Gerdau had to flee East Prussia in 1945 and came to Hamburg . There he was initially an officer candidate on the four-masted barque Padua , today's Kruzenshtern , later a seafarer and seven years captain.

From 1962 he worked as a writer, publicist and author for several newspapers ( Hamburger Abendblatt ). He published 25 books and around 200 stories. The best known are "The nerzlose cruise" and "Christmas at sea".
