Kurt Hoegg

Kurt Hoegg (born April 15, 1918 ) was a German football player. In the 1950s he played for Rotation / Einheit Dresden in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

In the decisive game for the Saxon championship 1949/50 between SG Dresden-Mickten and SG Lauter (3: 2) on April 10, 1950 in Chemnitz , the 32-year-old Hoegg was used as a left defender. As a master of Saxony, Mickten successfully took part in the promotion round to the GDR Oberliga. During the promotion games, the SG Mickten was integrated into the company sports community (BSG) Sachsenverlag Dresden. At the beginning of the league season 1950/51 the BSG was renamed Rotation Dresden. Hoegg was part of the BSG Rotation squad and played his first league game on matchday 2 in the encounter between Motor Dessau and Rotation Dresden (3: 1) on the right side of the defense. In this position he also completed most of his 30 league games, with which he belonged to the Dresden player base. He defended this status until the 1953/54 season, so that he played 107 of 130 point games played in four seasons. Only in the 1952/53 season he had to pause twelve games due to injury. Hoegg played his last league season in 1954/55. In the first half of the season he was used nine times in 13 league games, in the second half of the season he only played twice. Hoegg played his last and 118th league game on February 20, 1955 in the match on the 19th match day between Chemistry Halle and Dresden (2-2), when he came on in the 75th minute. He scored his only top division goal on April 19, 1953 in the game Lok Stendal - Rotation Dresden, when he scored the 2: 3 final score.
