Kurt Lanthaler

Kurt Lanthaler (born November 9, 1960 in Bozen ) is a South Tyrolean writer .

Lanthaler has been working as a freelance writer since 1986 and lives in Berlin and Zurich . In addition to novels , he writes short stories , plays , scripts and short stories . Lanthaler is a member of the German-speaking crime authors' group Syndikat , the Graz authors' assembly and a founding member of the South Tyrolean authors' association. He was also a co-founder and collaborator on the first two issues of the cultural magazine Distel . In 1999 he translated his first novel from Italian.

He became known with his Tschonnie Tschenett crime novels . They are about a useless truck driver who has gotten around the world and, without wanting to, is repeatedly involved in bizarre cases. Lanthaler also translates largely unknown Italian novels in German-speaking countries. He also worked as a lighting technician for film and is a member of the Bethlehem Revival Band.
