Kurt Wagner (born March 29, 1915 in Michelbach , today Aglasterhausen ; † January 11, 1986 ) was a German SPD politician .

Wagner joined the SPD early on, was mayor of his home town of Michelbach and was involved in workers' welfare. He participated in the establishment of the SPD local association Michelbach, which was to become one of the largest local associations within the SPD district association. He was also chairman and later honorary chairman of the SPD in the Mosbach district .

At the invitation of the then district chairman of the SPD, Wagner stood as a candidate in the district of Mosbach in the 1964 state elections . During the election campaign he received support from other SPD mayors in the district. Ultimately, through a second mandate, he was the first SPD politician from the Odenwald to enter the state parliament . Its entry and the performance of the SPD in the state elections in general also had a regional impact: a number of new SPD local associations emerged in the Mosbach district, the municipal election results also improved, and in some places the SPD was represented in councils for the first time.

In the 1968 election , the SPD, which in the meantime entered the state government under Prime Minister Hans Filbinger , lost a lot, and Wagner lost his seat in the state parliament. He ran again for the 1972 election, and despite the SPD's nationwide boom, he narrowly missed re-entry into the Stuttgart parliament.

In addition to his political career, Wagner was also active in football : he played actively in clubs and for many years was chairman of FC Union Michelbach and held a leading position in the Mosbach football district.
