Kutschurhan (Ukrainian Кучурган ; Russian Kutschurgan , formerly German Strasbourg ) is a village in southern Ukraine , about 60 kilometers northwest of Odessa near the border with the Republic of Moldova .

The Kuchurhan River of the same name runs west of the village and is dammed up to the Kuchurhan reservoir south of the village . An important border crossing to Moldova leads in the course of the M 16 over a bridge to Transnistria .

The place was founded in 1808 under the name Strasbourg as a settlement of the Black Sea Germans in the colonist district of Kuchurgan. In 1865 the place got a railway connection through the construction of the northern station on today's Rosdilna – Iași railway line . After the displacement and deportation of the German population in the place in 1944, the German name was deleted and named after the nearby river.
