The M 16 is a trunk road "of international importance" in Ukraine . It leads from Odessa in a north-westerly direction to the Moldovan border. On the territory of Moldova, the road continues to Chișinău . Before 1991 it was part of the M 14 in the Soviet trunk road network.

It is part of the European route 58 ( Vienna - Uzhhorod - Chișinău - Odessa - Rostov-on-Don ).
