The N 10 ( Cyrillic Н 10 ) is a Ukrainian trunk road. It leads from Stryj in a south-easterly direction via Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi to Chișinău in the Republic of Moldova .
history
This route belonged to the Austrian Crown Land of Galicia until 1918 and was known as the Beskider Reichsstraße . From 1817 it was built as the second east-west connection from Bielitz to Chernivtsi and was initially called the Carpathian Road . In 1893 there were 21 toll stations on the 260-kilometer route between Stryj and Chernivtsi.
The route from Stryj to Stanislau (former name of Ivano-Frankiwsk) belonged to the territory of the Second Polish Republic between 1918 and 1939 and was declared a state road ( droga państwowa ) by the Polish Road Act of December 10, 1920 .
