Kwon Tae-an (born February 18, 1985 in Seoul ) is a South Korean ice hockey player who has been under contract with High1 in the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2008 .
Career
Kwon Tae-an began his career as a hockey player on the Kyung-Bok High School team . At the age of 19, he moved to Yonsei University for a year . After two years in the USA - he played one year each with the Richmond Sockeyes and the Elmira Jackals - he went to Sweden to Borlänge HF for a year , where he played in the third division Division 1 . After he stood out there with 17 goals in 235 games, the striker was also noticed at home. Kwon signed a contract with High1 from Chuncheon for the Asia League Ice Hockey , where he has played since then.
International
For South Korea, Kwon Tae-an took part in the 2003 U-18 World Cup. In Division 2 of the 2009 World Cup , he played in the men's national team for the first time and with his seven goals in five games contributed significantly to promotion to Division 1. Not only did he have the best plus / minus balance of the tournament, but he was also voted the tournament's best striker and most valuable player . In Division 1, he took part in the 2010 , 2011 and 2013 World Championships for his country . At the Winter Asian Games 2011 he won the bronze medal with the South Korean team behind Kazakhstan and Japan .
