Kyle Waddell (born December 15, 1993 in Bellshill ) is a  Scottish  curler . Since the 2018/19 season he has played third in the team around Skip Ross Paterson .

Career

Waddell began his international career at the  2012 Junior World Championships , where he was second in the Scottish team led by Kyle Smith to win the bronze medal. At the  Junior World Championship in 2013 he  was world champion with the team. When he last participated in  2014  , he again achieved a podium with a silver medal.

At the  2013 Winter Universiade  , he won the silver medal as second on the team from the Scottish Agricultural College, Edinburgh.

At the  European Championships 2017  in  St. Gallen  , Waddell was able to  move into the final against the Swedish team of Niklas Edin after a semi-final victory against Switzerland (Skip:  Peter de Cruz )  ; the Scots lost 10: 5 there, as the Swedes managed to steal four stones in the end.

Waddell and his teammates (Skip: Kyle Smith, Third:  Thomas Muirhead , Lead:  Cameron Smith , Alternate:  Glen Muirhead ) represented Great Britain at the  2018 Olympic Winter Games . After five wins and four defeats in the Round Robin , his team was tied for fourth place with Switzerland and had to play a tie-breaker against Peter de Cruz's team to make it into the final round . The British lost 5: 9 to the Swiss and thus finished the Olympic tournament in fifth place.

After the end of the 2017/18 season, Waddell moved to the newly formed team around Ross Paterson as third.
