Kysuce

Kysuce (German Kischütz [en] , Hungarian Kiszuca ) is a region in northern Slovakia .

It lies between the Arwa region in the east, the Czech border in the west and the valley of the Váh / Waag river and also borders Poland . It includes the districts ( okresy ) Čadca and Kysucké Nové Mesto . Due to its peripheral location, the area is a rather poor region of Slovakia, there is currently new impetus from tourism . The particular attraction of this region for tourism is the untouched nature and numerous opportunities for winter sports.

It is named after the river Kysuca flowing through it and the region is located in the official tourist region Severné Považie .
