László Nagy [ ˈlaːsloː ˈnɒɟ ] (born March 3, 1981 in Székesfehérvár , Hungary ) is a former Hungarian handball player . He is 2.09 m tall and weighs 116 kg.

Nagy, who u. a. played for the Hungarian club Telekom Veszprém and played for the Hungarian men's national handball team, was mostly used in the right backcourt .

László Nagy's family moved to Szeged when he was one year old. His father was a professional basketball player and that's how László started out with this sport. At the age of 13 he was in the national U13 selection and received offers from the USA, but turned them down and finally decided entirely on the sport of handball, which he had got to know at school. So he soon came to the youth boarding school of SC Pick Szeged , where he played together with later national team colleagues such as Dániel Buday . At the age of 16 he made his debut in the professional team of Pick Szeged in the first Hungarian league. Foreign clubs quickly became aware of the tall Hungarian youngster and in 2000 he moved to FC Barcelona in the Spanish ASOBAL league . With the Catalans winning 2002/2003, 2005/2006, 2010/11 and 2011/2012, the Spanish Cup , 2000/2001 and 2001/2002 the Spanish Cup , the 2003/2004 Copa del Rey de Balonmano , 2000/2001, 2001 / The Spanish Supercup in 2002 and 2006/2007 , the EHF Cup in 2002/2003 , and the Champions League in 2004/2005 and 2010/2011 . In the summer of 2012, he moved to the Hungarian club MKB Veszprém, with whom he became champions in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019 as well as cup winners in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. After the 2018/19 season, Nagy ended his career and took over the position of sports director at MKB Veszprém.

Nagy played 209 international matches for the Hungarian men's national handball team . At the 2007 World Cup in Germany, he finished 9th with Hungary . On February 10, 2011, he finally announced his resignation from the Hungarian national handball team. In 2012, he returned to the squad and participated in the Olympic Games in London in part. In October 2017 he finally ended his international playing career.
