Löhningen (Ühlingen-Birkendorf)
Löhningen is a village in the Baden-Württemberg community of Ühlingen-Birkendorf in the Waldshut district .

Löhningen lies between Endermettingen or Untermettingen and Krenkingen or Detzeln above the Steinatal .
geology
Löhningen lies on the border of the Buntsandstein and Muschelkalk . Below in the Riedwiesengraben is a quarry founded in 1921 by Nikolaus Mieder from Schaffhausen for paving stones in granite porphyry with a rhyolite base.
history
In 1282 the village was first mentioned in writing as Loeningen . In the early 14th century, a court was under the Habsburgs Urbar in the Habsburgs owned three other courts and a Schuppose were under the monastery Berau . The parish had from 1694 Untermettingen.
Until 1806 a staff holder of the Landgraviate of Stühlingen was resident in the village as administrator of the estate . The rulers maintained a customs office here. Together with Endermettingen, the place belonged to the independent municipality of Untermettingen until 1974 .
