The Tangier is a river in Saxony-Anhalt . A distinction is made between Lüderitz Tangier and the “actual” Tangier (in maps often only Tangier is given for both ).
Several source streams in the area around Angern merge in a fan shape near Tangerhütte with the Tanger source stream from Cröchern and the tributary from Dolle . In the further course, the river south of the municipality of Demker takes on the Lüderitzer Tanger, which rises in Wittenmoor on the northern edge of the Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide . Finally, the Tangier reaches the Elbe as a left tributary in Tangermünde .
The numerous small tributaries of Tangier include Flohtgraben, Teichgraben, Pietzengraben, Tangerhütter Tanger / Uchtdorfer Tanger, Mahlwinkeler Tanger, Kiepebach, Beeke, Laufgraben, Dollgraben, Karrenbach, Schernebeker Mühlenbach, Lüderitzer Tanger and Nektdorfer Mühlengraben.
The Tangier has a length of 33 kilometers (from Angern to the mouth or from Cröchern to the mouth), the Lüderitz Tangier is around 28 kilometers long from the source to the mouth. The difference in altitude from the sources to the Elbe is between 30 and 50 meters. The Tangier lies partly in the district of Stendal and in the district of Börde . The catchment area of Tangier is 480 km².
The conservation area "lamp-Tanger sources" is between Uchtspringe and Luderitz.
