history

L.Bow Grease was founded in 2004 in Dortmund as a duo by Guntmar Feuerstein and Dave Jackson. In the 1980s Guntmar Feuerstein was the singer and lyricist / composer of the pop band Strandjungs, later he worked as a comedy writer for Atze Schröder , Rüdiger Hoffmann and Mario Barth , among others, and wrote music for TV series, including for Rita's World . Dave Jackson wrote songs with his brother Mick Jackson, including Blame It on the Boogie , a title that later became a global hit for Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five .

L.Bow Grease toured from 2007 to 2010 as a quartet with Guntmar Feuerstein (vocals, guitar, mandolin and guitjo), Dave Jackson (vocals, guitar, harmonica and mandolin), Alexandra Krings (double bass, vocals) and Sascha Loss ( Violin, harmonica and vocals). In 2009 her current album Let's Call It Home was proposed for the German Record Critics' Award .

In 2009 Sascha Loss left the group and was replaced by the Irish fiddler George Kaye ( The Permanent Cure ). Since the end of 2010 the duo has been playing in the original line-up again.
