The software LOGINventory is a solution for automated network inventory of hardware - and software components for the license management in IT - network and IT documentation . The software gives the user a quick overview of the entire inventory of hardware and software available in the network in tabular, filterable form and with various reports supplied via the LOGINventory Management Center as well as graphical representations of the network topology . The program is being developed by the German software house Schmidt's LOGIN in Munich .

LOGINventory documents all IT assets in the entire network without agents, consequently without local installation of a client agent on the systems to be inventoried. Platforms such as Windows , Linux , MacOS and others are inventoryed .

This data is stored in a database for further evaluation . Databases from Microsoft SQL Server 2012 SP4 (all editions) are supported.

The Windows offline agent is optionally available for the inventory, which also records computers that are never or only rarely in the local network , such as laptops of field service employees or DMZ servers .

LOGINventory is free of charge for small companies or for testing in larger environments. From a number of 20 assets in the network, the licenses are chargeable.

The LOGINventory license management is suitable for the provision of SAM processes. Among other things, it can be used to distinguish and manage applications and operating systems from physical and virtual machines (VM).
