Nikolaus Haufler (born December 10, 1984 in Chelyabinsk , Russian SFSR , Soviet Union ) is a German politician ( CDU ) and entrepreneur. From 2011 to 2015 he was a member of the Hamburg Parliament .

Live and act

Nikolaus Haufler was born in Chelyabinsk (Russia, southern Urals) in 1984. His father was born as a descendant of Crimean Germans who emigrated from the Stuttgart region to the Black Sea in the 19th century ; his mother is Russian. He has lived in Hamburg since 1995 . There he passed the Abitur at the Hamm high school in 2003 and was a scholarship holder of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation . He graduated from the Wedel University of Applied Sciences in 2007 with a degree in business information technology (FH) . Nikolaus Haufler is of Protestant denomination and is married to the federal manager of the Junge Union Deutschlands, Antonia Haufler.

In 2001 Nikolaus Haufler joined the Junge Union and the CDU Hamburg . From 2004 he was elected citizen in technical committees of the district assembly Hamburg-Mitte and district chairman of the Junge Union Hamburg-Mitte. From 2008 to 2011 he was a district representative in the district assembly Hamburg-Mitte and there spokesman for the youth welfare committee and the budget committee . In the state elections in Hamburg in 2011 , he was elected to be ranked 50th in the state list in the Hamburg citizenship.

In 2008 Nikolaus Haufler, as chairman of the Junge Union Hamburg-Mitte , invited the co-founder of a fraternity suspected of right-wing extremism , Felix Menzel , as a speaker at an event organized by the CDU youth organization . In 2009, Haufler failed at a general assembly with his candidacy for the state chairmanship of the Junge Union Hamburg against the more moderate Jan Meyer from the Eimsbüttel district association with 112 to 159 votes.

In November 2011, Nikolaus Haufler started a collection of signatures with the intention of overturning the alcohol ban on public transport of the Hamburg Transport Association , which has been in force since September 2011 . The initiative "Against paternalism in the HVV - For the after-work beer" intended to collect more than 10,000 signatures by March 2012 in order to obtain a referendum . The signature lists were not submitted.

In the 2015 general election, Nikolaus Haufler ran for 23rd place on the state list, but lost his mandate. Since then, he has continued to be a co-opted member of the CDU Hamburg regional executive committee. In addition, he is still active as an assessor in the Hamburg state board of the Junge Union.

Since April 2019, Haufler has been the founder and managing director of the start-up "Wetterheld", which offers insurances against weather influences for small and medium-sized companies.
