La Chapelle-Monvoisin is a former French commune in the department of Orne . Today La Chapelle-Monvoisin is part of the municipality of Bazoches-au-Houlme .
history
La Chapelle-Monvoisin emerged as an independent municipality from the French Revolution . It was first called La Chapelle Monvoisin and belonged to the canton of the nearby Bazoches and the Orne department. In 1801 it was assigned to the Canton of Putanges through the reorganization of the cantons . In the same year a hyphen was added to the place name between the components Chapelle and Monvoisin . With 48 inhabitants in 1793 and 50 inhabitants in 1806, La Chapelle-Monvoisin was an extremely poorly populated municipality. It was incorporated into Bazoches together with Saint-Pavin in 1812 .
