La Habra is a city in Orange County in the US state of California , United States , with 62,183 inhabitants (as of 2018). The urban area covers an area of ​​19.0 km².

history

In 1839, Don Mariano Reyes Roldan obtained 6,698 acres of land and named it Rancho Cañada de La Habra. The name meant "path through the mountains" and referred to the first natural pass that the Spaniards discovered there in 1769. In the 1860s , Abel Stearns bought the land. Shortly after, a big flood, followed by several droughts over La Habra was falling, many ranchers in the bankruptcy drove.

On March 28, 2014, the place was shaken by an earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale . The quake was after the Whittier Narrows earthquake on October 1, 1987, the second strongest quake in the history of the place.
