La Joya is a town in the Oruro department in the highlands of the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
La Joya is the central place of the canton La Joya in the municipality Caracollo in the province of Cercado . The village of La Joya is located at an altitude of 3736 m on the right bank of the Río Desaguadero , which in the Bolivian highlands connects Lake Titicaca in the north with Lake Poopó in the south.

La Joya is located on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andean mountain ranges of the Cordillera Occidental in the west and the Cordillera Central in the east.
