Curse of the Hidden Treasure (original title: I cacciatori del cobra d'oro ) is an Italian adventure film with fantasy elements, which was directed by action specialist Antonio Margheriti in 1982. The film, which is reminiscent of Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark not only in its title , received cautious to moderate reviews.

content

As American soldiers of World War II, Bob and Dave face a fake Japanese general, an act of sabotage and a statue of a golden cobra. Allegedly this statue has magical powers that are transferred to the owner. After a few years - both are now secret agents of the American government - they both go on a search. They are joined by the pretty June and her uncle, who are interested in the whereabouts of June's missing sister April. Your journey through the jungle is lined with numerous dangers and traps, which you will survive with luck and skill. When they reach a native tribe, they not only find the statue of the cobra there, but also June, who is the ruler of the tribe. June and her uncle, now obviously acting out of greed, die in a volcanic eruption; the surviving Bob returns to civilization with the statue and April.

criticism

  • Segnalazione cinematografiche judges: “The film, which is a non-stop sequence of action scenes, prepares adventures that we know from previous works by the director or from American role models or from Bruce Lee films. Mediocre, average adventure yarn. "

Others

  • The German theatrical version was shortened; the video version, on the other hand, is FSK -unexamined and uncut
