The La Superba is a ferry of the Italian shipping company Grandi Navi Veloci that was put into service in 2002 . It is used on the route from Genoa to Palermo .

history

The La Superba was created under the hull number 1220 in the shipyard of Nuovi Cantieri Apunia in Marina di Carrara and ran in June 2001 from the stack. After its delivery to Grandi Navi Veloci in March 2002, the ship began the ferry service from Genoa to Olbia in the same month .

In February 2008 the La Superba was to be sold to the Vietnam- based Vinashin Ocean Shipping Company; the handover was planned for October 2008. However, the sale did not take place due to excessive costs. The La Superba therefore remained in the Grandi Navi Veloci fleet and was used on various routes in the following years. It currently operates the route from Genoa to Palermo.

The younger sister ship of the La Superba is the La Suprema , which entered service in 2003 , but has a lower tonnage.
