Laamu is an administrative atoll of the Maldives . The area is identical to the geographical Haddhunmathi Atoll . The main town of the administrative area is on the island of Fonadhoo .

The atoll consists mainly of sandbanks and some islands, which are mainly located in the eastern and southern regions.

It is very similar to a neighboring atoll called "Kolhumadulhu". It is also very similar to some of the atolls in the Pacific Ocean. Some islands are larger than average in relation to the rest of the Maldives. The average water depth is between 55 and 62 meters.

The Laamu Atoll forms the southern end of the Central Maldives.

The Kadhoo Domestic Airport is located on Kadhdhoo in the Laamu Atoll.
