The Mulaku Atoll , also Mulak Atoll , is an atoll of the eastern island chain of the Maldives in the Lakkadive Sea . It is congruent with the area of ​​the Maldivian administrative atoll Mulak Atholhu , with the Thaana short name ވ( Meemu ).

General

The atoll is about 15 km south of the Felidhu Atoll and about 40 km east of the South Nilandhe Atoll .

Mulaku is 47 km long (north-south) and up to 31 km wide (east-west). It consists of 33 islands , of which only eight are permanently inhabited. The main island of Muli is located on the eastern reef rim of the atoll.
