Laannguaq Bolethe Caroline Lynge (born Vahl , according to the old spelling Lãnguaĸ Lynge ; born June 20, 1943 in Qanngui ) is a Greenlandic politician ( Siumut ) and librarian .

Life

She was born in 1943 as one of six children in a long-abandoned settlement on Narluneq near Narsaq . Her parents were Lars Hoseas Morten Vahl and Kirsten "Kiistaaraq" Merab Malene Egede. The name Vahl goes back to the botanist Jens Vahl (1796-1854). She attended the Efterskole in Qaqortoq , then the secondary school in Nuuk and finally a high school in Denmark . She then trained as a librarian. At this time she met Niels Henrik Lynge (* 1937), who later became program director at Kalaallit Nunaata Radioa . He was the son of the writer Hans Lynge (1906–1988) and the brother of the politician Torben Emil Lynge (* 1940). They both married in 1967 and the couple had three sons: Pavia Josef (* 1967), Mads David (* 1970) and Hans Kristian (* 1971). In 1972 she was employed at the Greenland State Library . In 1985 she became the head of Groenlandica .

Laannguaq Lynge's political career began in 1983 when she ran for local elections and was elected to the Nuuk Township Council. She stayed there for a total of 18 years. She ran in the parliamentary elections in Greenland in 1991 , but did not receive enough votes for a parliamentary seat. In the same year she became mayor of Nuuk Township after Kunuk Lynge passed away in office. She brought the term to 1993 to an end. Two years later, Agnethe Davidsen stood in for the 1995 general election . When Agnethe Davidsen resigned from parliament after the mayoral election in 1997, Laannguaq Lynge came to parliament for her and stayed there until the end of the 1999 legislature.
