The noble Lacković family ( Laczkowitsch or Laczkovich , Hungarian Lackfi or Lackfy ) was an aristocratic family in the late medieval unified Croatian-Hungarian kingdom .

historical overview

The family comes from the old line of the Herman (Hungarian: Hermány) and, according to available sources, the Count of Raabs from Nuremberg . The ancestors of the family came 995, along with the Duchess Gisela of Bavaria , the future wife of King Stephen I , according to Hungary .

The family founder was Ladislaus (called Lack, Laczk or Lacko), Count of Szeklerland (Hungarian: Székely) in eastern Transylvania in the first half of the 14th century. His successors were therefore called "the sons of Lacko", that is, Lackovići.

When the family had lost their wealth and influence due to the " Bloody Assembly of Križevci " on February 27, 1397, most of the remaining members found refuge in the Kalnik Mountains north of the town of Križevci (German: Kreutz) and gradually integrated into the local community Noble.
