Laem Sing (Chanthaburi)
Laem Sing ( Lion's Cape ) ( Thai : หาด แหลม สิงห์ ) is a small beach in the district ( Amphoe ) Laem Sing in the province of Chanthaburi in the eastern part of central Thailand .
Hat Laem Sing is located about 30 km south of the provincial capital Chanthaburi . It can be reached from Sukhumvit Road towards Trat . The beach itself is lined with pine trees along its entire length . Small restaurants are available as well as a boat rental to visit the two nearby islands of Ko Chula and Ko Nom Sao .
Near Hat Laem Sing on Laem Sing Hill are the remains of two forts from the time of King Rama III. When the French occupied Chanthaburi in 1893 , they maintained a garrison on the Lion's Cape , which served to control traffic on the river.
Attractions
- Kuk Ki Gai : The infamous little two-story brick building Kuk Ki Gai (Chicken Dung Prison) dates from this period and served as a prison for Thai soldiers who opposed the French occupation. Chickens were kept above the prison and their excrement fell on the prisoners.
 - Tuk Daeng : the “Red House”, is a flat building surrounded by a colonnade, which is located at the Ban Pak Nam market. During the occupation it served as an administration building, later it temporarily housed the local library.
 - Oasis Sea World is also close to the beach. Here are dolphin shows and many other attractions shown a butterfly farm can also be visited.
