Lago di Corbara (wine region)

The Lago di Corbara wine-growing region is located on the eponymous reservoir Lago di Corbara east of Orvieto in the Italian region of Umbria . Since July 1, 1998, the wines produced here have enjoyed the status of Denominazione di origine controllata (DOC for short). The denomination was last updated in 2014.

Cultivation

The cultivation and vinification of the wines is permitted in the following municipalities: In the municipality of Baschi and in parts of the municipality of Orvieto or its districts Corbara, Fossatello, Colonnetta di Prodo, Prodo and Titignano. The DOC overlaps with the denominations Orvieto and Rosso Orvietano .

Blending wines

  • Lago di Corbara Rosso and Rosso "Riserva" : Must contain at least 70% of the grape varieties Cabernet Sauvignon , Merlot , Pinot nero and / or Sangiovese (individually or together). A maximum of 30% other red grape varieties approved for cultivation in the Umbria region may be added.
