The white wine variety Lagorthi ( often synonymous: Pampanuto ) is grown almost exclusively in the Apulia region in Italy . It probably comes from Greece and is also known there under the name. Their cultivation is recommended in the metropolitan city of Bari . The main growing areas are in the immediate vicinity of the municipalities of Corato and Ruvo di Puglia . In 1999 the area under vines was 892 hectares .

The vines have very large leaves and the greenish-yellow grapes are also quite large. The white wines are mostly used for blends , for example in the DOC - Castel del Monte wine . There the wine is offered both as still wine and as sparkling wine .
