Lahnbahnhof consists of a group of houses and the Leun / Braunfels train station and, together with the former municipality of Leun, forms a district of the Hessian city of Leun in the Lahn-Dill district .
geography
Lahnbahnhof is located in the Lahn valley between Wetzlar and Weilburg at the lower end of the Westerwald and is the northern “gate” to the Taunus , which makes the district famous.

Together with the former municipality of Leun, Lahnbahnhof forms the largest district of the city of Leun, which was newly formed on December 31, 1971 as part of the regional reform in Hesse .

In Lahnbahnhof there is one of the two Leun train stations, Leun / Braunfels of the Lahntalbahn . The second is in the Stockhausen district . In the past, the so-called Ernstbahn branched off here , which led via Braunfels to Philippstein and, in addition to occasional passenger traffic, benefited above all from freight traffic from the nearby pits.
