The Lakeland Loggerheads were an American ice hockey team based in Lakeland , Florida . The team played in the World Hockey Association 2 in the 2003/04 season .

history

The team was founded in 2003 as a franchise of the World Hockey Association 2 , which was held for the first time . The team was named after the loggerhead turtle . In their only season, the Loggerheads took sixth and last place in the WHA2 after the regular season. As a result, they missed the subsequent playoffs. When the league was dissolved after a year, the loggerheads also stopped playing.
