Lambert Šmíd (born August 9, 1968 in Brno , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech football player on the position of midfielder .

Career

Šmíd played in his youth for FC Zbrojovka Brno , in the season 1986/87 he made the leap into the first team, in a league game he was not used. In the first Czechoslovak league, the midfielder made his debut in the following season 1987/88 as a player for Dukla Prague . The second half of his military service Šmíd played for RH Cheb . Subsequently, Šmíd returned to Brno , where he now had a regular place. In January 1991 he moved to the top club Sparta Prague , where he could not assert himself and remained without league use. For the 1991/92 season Šmíd was obliged by FC Vítkovice , after half a year he changed the club again and joined the then second division Gera Drnovice . In early 1993, the midfielder returned to his hometown for a second time.

For the 1995/96 season the Czech went to the Belgian league for SK Beveren . His club was relegated in his first season abroad, but immediately rose again in 1996/97. After six years in Beveren , Šmíd moved to league competitor RWD Molenbeek in mid-2001 . When the club's license was withdrawn in August 2002, Šmíd decided to return to his home country and joined the second division club FC Roubina Dolní Kounice . After six months Dolní Kounice was the last place to Buchev, Šmíd went into the fourth division to FC Dosta Bystrc-Kníničky from his hometown Brno. In January 2007 he joined the amateur club Palavan Bavory. Then Šmíd moved to Austria where he strengthened the team of Scu Poysbrunn / Falkenstein. After a season he returned to Bavory.
