Lammhult is a village ( Tatort ) in the Swedish province of Kronobergs län and the historic province of Småland . The place belongs to the municipality of Växjö and is located on the state road 30 from Växjö to Jönköping . The Södra stambanan railway runs through Lammhult .
history
The place was mentioned as Lamhult in 1416 . For a long time Lammhult was only a small village, but then became the location of several companies in the furniture industry and thus an important place in the so-called furniture kingdom. Well-known furniture manufacturers Lammhults are Lammhults Möbel AB , Svensson i Lammhult , Norrgavel and Nilsson . Lammhults Möbel AB was founded in 1945 by Edvin Ståhl and Adolf Andersson as Lammhults Mekaniska Verkstad .
Lammhult's population was 1465 in 2000, increased to 1503 in 2005 and then fell to 1459 by 2010. The area of the built-up area, however, rose from 2.21 km² to 2.25 km².
Personalities
The Swedish composer, conductor and musician Mats Larsson Gothe (* 1965) was born in Lammhult.
The Swedish football player Peter Wibrån began his career in Lammhult . The missionary and translator Phillippa Wiking (1920–2010) died in Lammhult in 2010.
