The State Garden Show Kamp-Lintfort 2020 is the 18th  State Garden Show of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia . The city of Kamp-Lintfort is organizing the garden show from May 5 to October 11, 2020 on the former colliery grounds of the Friedrich Heinrich 1/2 mine ( West Mine ) and at Kamp Abbey .

The original start date on April 17th had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany . From April 20, the colliery park was initially accessible on individual days with capacity and path restrictions; since May 5, it and the facility at Kamp Monastery, referred to by the organizers as "Kamper Gartenreich", have been officially open subject to conditions. The planned events as part of the State Garden Show, including the opening ceremony, have been canceled or postponed indefinitely.

The two parks on the former colliery site and at Kamp monastery are connected by the two and a half kilometers long, so-called “ Wandelweg ”, which runs along the Great Goorley and the Fossa Eugeniana . There are also shuttle buses .

The State Garden Show has been accessible by train since May 16. For this purpose, the route of the former coal mine connection railway, the Friedrich Heinrich – Rheinpreußen-Hafen between Kamp-Lintfort and Rheinkamp, was reactivated and the barrier-free Kamp-Lintfort Süd stop , unofficially "Kamp-Lintfort Kattenstrasse / LAGA", was built. This is served on weekends and public holidays by the regional train RB 31 , " Der Niederrheiner ", the NordWestBahn . After the state horticultural show, the railway line is to be extended to a planned Kamp-Lintfort station and started in regular operation.
