Figures and data on local transport in Schleswig-Holstein
In 2012, local transport in Schleswig-Holstein had 1,179 kilometers of rail network with 173 train stations. 26,000 kilometers of bus routes with around 7,500 stops were included. Six railway companies and around 50 bus companies carried around 324 million passengers per year.
Tasks of the NAH.SH
The core task of the NAH.SH is the planning, ordering and quality assurance of the local rail -Angebotes. At the same time, she is also responsible for coordinating tasks relating to other public transport (buses / ferries). The company performs planning tasks in the infrastructure area to further develop the country and create an integral cycle timetable .
His tasks also include the further development of the Schleswig-Holstein tariff, which is valid nationwide and across all modes of transport . This replaced the local transport tariff of the Deutsche Bahn in December 2002 and since then has made it possible to issue continuous tickets right down to local transport. The basis for the work of the transport association are the local transport plans drawn up every five years by state politics .
