Baden-Baden Regional Court

The Baden-Baden Regional Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction , whose jurisdiction includes the districts of five local courts.

Jurisdiction and seat

The seat of the court is Baden-Baden . Five district courts belong to the district of the Baden-Baden Regional Court: Achern , Bühl , Baden-Baden , Gernsbach , Rastatt .

The district of the Rastatt district court is by far the largest with around 135,300 inhabitants; In contrast, the Gernsbach district has only about 24,000 inhabitants. The district court district has around 334,000 inhabitants.

When a new courthouse was to be built for the old courthouse in the city center, which had become too small, a location outside the city center was chosen for urban planning and spa reasons. The State Building Authority I, Karlsruhe planned the construction, the design comes from Barbara Jakubeit . The courthouse on the motorway feeder ( B 500 ) in Gutenbergstrasse was completed in 1980. The district and district court moved in in the same year.

The new building was awarded one of the five main prizes of the KS Architecture Prize 1980 and is a listed building .

The district court districts of Baden-Baden, Rastatt and Gernsbach belonged to the district of the regional court of Karlsruhe , Bühl and Achern zu Offenburg since 1879 .
