The Mosbach Regional Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction in Mosbach in Baden-Württemberg and one of nine regional courts in the district of the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court .

The district court has its seat in Mosbach . The judicial district includes all 27 cities and municipalities of the Neckar-Odenwald district as well as the 12 cities and municipalities of the north-western half of the Main-Tauber district , which form its Baden part. In 2007, 237,108 people lived in the district.

The court has jurisdiction within its judicial district for civil and criminal matters as a court of first instance as well as an appeal and appeals authority.

history

In Baden time, the Mannheim court was responsible for the Mosbach area . In 1864, eleven district courts were established in Baden, one of which began its work on October 1, 1864 in Mosbach in the buildings of the former Franciscan monastery and included the district courts of Adelsheim, Boxberg , Buchen, Eberbach , Gerlachsheim , Mosbach, Tauberbischofsheim, Walldürn and Wertheim. The first director was Friedrich Serger , later President of the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court and a member of the state parliament. After the establishment of the German Empire , the Courts Constitution Act came into force in 1879 and the District Court of Mosbach became one of seven regional courts in Baden. In 1921 a jury was added.
