Friedrich Serger

Friedrich Serger (born January 26, 1822 in Gerlachsheim , † February 12, 1892 in Karlsruhe ) was a Baden lawyer and politician.

Life

Friedrich Serger was the third son of Ernst Serger, a councilor and domain administrator in Gerlachsheim in the service of Prince von Salm . After attending grammar school in Mannheim, Friedrich Serger studied law in Bonn and Heidelberg. In 1840 he joined the Corps Guestphalia Bonn and in 1841 the Corps Suevia Heidelberg . After completing his studies, he became a legal intern in 1844 and an assessor at the Mannheim District Office in 1849. In the further course of his career he became court judge in Mannheim in 1858, district court director in Mosbach (Neckar-Odenwald district) in 1864, vice chancellor at the Oberhofgericht in Mannheim in 1869 and chancellor at the same court in 1872. He was also an extraordinary member of the Baden State Ministry. In 1877 he was appointed district and court court president in Karlsruhe, and in 1879 district court president in Karlsruhe. There he was also President of the Imperial Disciplinary Chamber. In 1881 Serger was appointed president of the higher regional court in Karlsruhe.

Political activity

Friedrich Serger was a member of the National Liberal Party . From 1871 to 1872 Friedrich Serger belonged to the second chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly for constituency 53 ( Mosbach office ) . As a member of the state parliament he wrote, among other things, a report on a large part of the very extensive Baden Introductory Act to the Reich Criminal Code . From 1889 to 1892 Serger was a member of the First Chamber of the Baden Estates Assembly appointed by the Grand Duke and during this time also President of the Chamber.
