history

Foundation and development

The Tauberbischofsheim District Court has existed as an independent authority since September 1, 1857. Previously, the administration of justice was exercised by the central and city courts, by the Vogteiamt, the judicial office and, most recently, by the district office of Tauberbischofsheim . The first entries in the commercial register were made in 1862 . In 1863 the court of lay judges was set up at the Tauberbischofsheim district court. The city of Külsheim was separated from its district and added to the Wertheim District Court . The former district and later district court of Mosbach became the higher court . From 1872 the Tauberbischofsheim district court took over the district of Gerlachsheim after the district court was repealed. The current district court building was built between 1872 and 1876. From 1900 the notary's office in Tauberbischofsheim received offices in the district court building. In 1930 the Gerlachsheim notary's office was dissolved and the Tauberbischofsheim notary's office took over its activities. From 1934 to 1945 the Tauberbischofsheim District Court was administered by the Reich Ministry of Justice in Berlin .

Post-war developments

In the period between 1969 and 1975, the local and factual jurisdiction of the Tauberbischofsheim District Court changed fundamentally due to a regional and administrative reform. In 1974 the District Court Boxberg was repealed and the District Court Tauberbischofsheim took over its district. From 1975 to 1976 the district court building was renovated and expanded.

Reorganizations since the turn of the millennium

From 1999 bankruptcy cases were centralized due to the introduction of insolvency law and added to the Mosbach District Court. In 2003 the Tauberbischofsheim branch of the Adelsheim correctional facility was closed . Since the commercial register was centralized in 2006, the files have been processed via the central registry court in Mannheim. From 2012 there was a reorganization of the Baden-Württemberg land registry with a centralization of land registry matters (beginning of the integration of municipal and state land registry offices into the land registry department at thirteen selected local courts). The Tauberbischofsheim site has been responsible for land registers for the district court district of Mosbach and the district court district of Sinsheim since 2012. On March 1, 2015, the register of associations of the Tauberbischofsheim District Court was concentrated in the Mannheim District Court . From this point on, the Mannheim District Court is solely responsible for keeping the register of associations.
