The Zwickau Regional Court is a court of ordinary jurisdiction in the district of the Dresden Higher Regional Court . The regional court (LG) has its seat at Platz der Deutschen Einheit in Zwickau , Saxony . The Dresden Higher Regional Court is subordinate to it and the Federal Court of Justice in Karlsruhe is superordinate to it.

Institutions

The Zwickau public prosecutor's office is located in the district court building. Chief Public Prosecutor Klaus Rövekamp has held the position of senior public prosecutor since August 17, 2012 . In 1999 Rövekamp moved from North Rhine-Westphalia to Dresden, where he was already a senior public prosecutor. From 2006 he also held the position of senior senior public prosecutor at the public prosecutor's office in the state capital. According to the Ministry of Justice, the Zwickau regional court and public prosecutor's office together have around 200 employees.

The district courts of Auerbach , Hohenstein-Ernstthal , Plauen and Zwickau belong to the district of the regional court .

The district court of Zwickau is located in the same building.

Dirk Eberhard Kirst (born 1960) has been President of the Zwickau Regional Court since June 1, 2017. His predecessor was Rainer Huber, senior public prosecutor and from 2008 to 2010 head of the Zwickau public prosecutor's office . He succeeded Norbert Radmacher on August 1, 2012, who had retired.
