Estate wages

The Lohn estate is a campaign in the municipality of Kehrsatz , Canton Bern , Switzerland .

history

It was built from 1782 to 1783 by Carl Ahasver von Sinner in the early Classicist style for Beat Emanuel Tscharner (1753-1825). In 1897 the von Tscharner family sold it to the legal historian Friedrich Emil Welti .

When Welti's second wife, Helene Kammer-Welti, died on July 14, 1942, she bequeathed the estate to the Swiss Confederation. Since then, it has served as the Federal Council's guest house . In the case of visits by foreign heads of state , which usually only take place once a year in Switzerland , the state banquets are paid for.

The large park is partially open to the public. The house is also opened to the public a few days a year.
