Lands of Lore 3 is a computer role-playing game from Westwood Studios and the final part of the trilogy that began with The Throne of Chaos . action

The events immediately follow the end of the second part. The Draracle has no reason to remain in the mortal world after the rebirth and death of Belial. It therefore leaves the world through the luminous path - a portal in the shape of a mirror. What remains is his magical servant Jakel, who is directly connected to the magic of Anu. Since he can no longer exist without the magic anus, he does not close the luminous path as instructed, but destroys the mirror, so that the luminous path is never closed and the magic anus survives. He distributes the splinters of the mirror in other dimensions, which threaten to penetrate the world now that the structure of magic has been shaken.

The player takes on the role of Copper LeGre, an illegitimate son of the King of Gladstone. During a meeting with his father and stepbrothers, an attack by creatures from another dimension occurs. Copper survives as the only one, but loses his soul in the process, which is snatched from him by one of the creatures. At the same time, portals to other dimensions open up everywhere in the game world, which spit out terrible creatures and seemingly overrun Gladstone. As the only remaining heir to the throne, he must now face the impending dangers alone and try to regain his soul.

The reviews for Lands of Lore 3 were significantly more critical than their predecessors ( GameRankings : 61.95%).

Stefan "Desslock" Janicki from the US game magazine Computer Gaming World complained that the many technical problems and the repetitive game principle outweigh the positive aspects such as the good soundscape, the clear interface, the well-documented course of the game and the reminiscences of the previous series parts.

Ironically, fans claim that the game was released in the middle of testing because it contained numerous bugs. For example, the last mission of the mages guild could not be fulfilled even after an update. The Lands of Lore series was discontinued, but the still flawed third part was published anyway.
