The Langfast is a 360.1 meter high mountain of Leinebergland in the district of Northeim in southern Lower Saxony ( Germany ).

Geographical location

The narrow mountain ridge running in an east-west direction is located north of the Göttingen Forest between Bühle (Northeim) in the west, Suterode in the north and Gillersheim in the east and Sudershausen in the south. The closest major city, Göttingen, is 12 kilometers to the southwest and the district town of Northeim is about 6 kilometers to the northwest.

Naturally, Langfast belongs to the natural area of ​​the Nörten Forest within the Göttingen-Northeimer Forest in the Weser-Leine Bergland .

The completely forested Langfast (Forst Katlenburg in the north and Forst Gillersheim in the south) is a narrow mountain range about three kilometers long. Upstream to the west is the Scherenberg (approx. 280 m) and to the east the Buchenberg (255 m), in the immediate vicinity are the Leisenberg (approx. 290 m) in the southeast, the actual Nörthener Wald (up to 305 m) in the southwest and the Wieter (356 m) in the northwest. The mountain is part of the nature reserve NSG Westerhöfer Bergland-Langfast .
