Lao Che is a Polish musical group. It was founded in 1999 by former members of the Koli band in Płock . A gangster from the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom was the godfather of her name.
Band history
After the release of the Powstanie Warszawskie album in 2005, the band's popularity grew rapidly. The album and the band received many awards. In 2012, then President Bronisław Komorowski presented Lao Che with the Silver Cross of Merit .
The album Soundtrack was recorded and released by the band on October 19, 2012. The album Dzieciom ( Polish : The Children ) was recorded on March 6, 2015 and sold 15,000 times after its release, with which it won a gold record on October 17, 2015.
style
Your music style is composed of several directions. Elements from alternative rock , crossover , punk and ska can also be found in her pieces, as well as ambient and folklore .
At the beginning of their career, Lao Che often worked on concept albums . Her debut Gusła (2002) deals with Polish folk culture of the Middle Ages, with pagan customs and witch hunts. Powstanie Warszawskie (2005) was dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, while Gospel (2008) dealt with Christianity and the Bible in an ironic and humorous way.
